The Gaboon Ebony gauge is jet black. It sometimes has a very faint gray streak in the grain pattern. These gauges are exceptional, have a very nice weight and are just gorgeous.

Excellent product! I purchased the 4” version a couple of months ago for use in my clock construction with small parts. I was very impressed by the beauty and precision of the manufacture I purchased a duplicate in the 6” ebony as well. I was not disappointed! The 6” version has the same precision as the 4” version . I highly recommend these marking gauges.
